Hey friends!
Have I made it clear that our God is amazing?
Our travel day started off bright and early at 4:30 a.m.! We put our hiking backpacks in the trailer and then piled into the AIM vans with our day packs, and we were off to the airport! Once we arrived, we said goodbye to our mentors, Alyssa and Drew. Then we prayed and made our way into the airport. This is the crazy part. When we were at the part for our checked bags, I weighed my bag, and it was 52 lbs, which is 2 pounds over the allowed weight. So I took out the tent poles and my tennis shoes, nothing excessively heavy. I got up to give them my checked bag, and when I put it on the scale, it was 35 lbs! During the time I was in line, I was praying that my bag would make it through and that it would be light enough, and He answered! I was in a pretty good mood the rest of the day after that!
We then got on the plane to Houston, Texas, which was only about an hour and a half. Once in Houston, we had a three-over layover, then boarded, and had a 5-hour flight to Medellín, Colombia!! We landed around 9:30, then got on a bus and got to the hosts’ house around 11:30.
We are so spoiled with our living arrangements here, and our hosts have been an incredible blessing already. Even though we have come to serve them, they want us to use this time to prepare our next three countries. This place is truly amazing, and I cannot wait to see how we all grow and the people we reach in this first country.
Thank you for your continual prayers and support!
Much love,
Lydia
